Sports Therapy & Sports Massage Sports massage is designed to improve athletic performance. Having a regular sports massage will be of great benefit to the Sports Person as it can maintain tone and muscle agility to its maximum potential. A sports massage will enable you to train harder, for longer, and your recovery time following exercise will improve. Flexibility will dramatically improve as well as removing toxins from exhausted muscles. Furthermore, identifying small injuries before they become apparent can prevent them becoming more serious. The frequency of a sports massage depends on the amount of exercise (and intensity) that you undertake. The majority of our clients have a sports massage once or twice a month, however, some even visit us once a week! Remedial & Deep Tissue Massage/Manipulations Remedial massage is where the Therapist will work on a particular area of the body such as Trigger Points or fibrous adhesions. Deep tissue massage/manipulation is used where the Therapist has identified an area where the muscles are restricted and not moving correctly. The Therapist uses a special technique to separate the individual muscle fibres so that the muscles can move freely. Electro-therapy Common conditions/injuries suitable for electro-therapy are: arthritis, rheumatism, back ache, muscle soreness, sports injuries, joint problems and post operative pain relief.
