If English is your second language and you want to improve your spoken and written skills, then this is the course for you. These levels are suitable for people with no or some knowledge of English. This course offers people a place to meet others from different cultures and backgrounds, a great opportunity to learn a new language and is taught in an everyday context.
What will I achieve by the end of the course?
You will have developed basic reading & writing skills as well as speaking & listening skills. You should have also developed basic knowledge of grammar, common words and phrases. You will also be able to achieve an ESOL Skills for Life Certificate in Communication Skills.
Certificate in Literacy at Entry Levels 1-3 up to Levels 1-2
Course / Programme Outline
At the start of your course you will be asked to complete an initial assessment to identify that the course level is correct for you. Once you have identified your level you will complete a diagnostic assessment to identify any gaps in your skill set and a programme of learning will be developed to meet your need.
We have no set times for enrolment and you can enrol on the course at any time during the year. The course is a roll-on roll-off basis to meet your needs, however we find that learners who attend on a regular basis find it easier to build upon their skills and meet the exam requirements of the course.
Who can apply?
The course is for those who have no formal or national qualifications in literacy or English. It is also for those who wish to have a current, nationally recognised qualification for employment or higher education purposes.

You could achieve a natioanlly recognised qualification in English at a level that is right for you.
