Skills for Life are the skills you need to get on at home and at work. In other words, the English, ICT and maths skills you need for life. Choosing a mobile phone, writing a report or helping your children with their homework all require good Skills for Life.
Who are these courses for?
There are over seven million adults in the UK who have difficulties with maths or reading, writing, understanding and speaking English. Most of us could benefit from improving these skills for a variety of reasons, maybe we did not acquire these skills at school, or they need refreshing after lack of use. Perhaps technology has changed and we need to learn new skills to keep up. To meet your needs, we have designed short courses which allow you to achieve a nationally recognised qualification in Maths/Numeracy, ICT/Information & Communication Technology and/or ESOL and Numeracy. Each course can be studied either week days, evenings or at weekends. These courses focus on topics such as: spelling, punctuation and grammar or confidence with numbers, understanding fractions and decimals. At the end of the programme and once you are ready you can then take the National Test or qualification in English and Literacy and/or Maths and Numeracy. |
